Targets: Working Adults
Someone call you up on the phone or chat with you over a social networking site, asking if you are interested in Facebook stocks/shares.
The offer is enticing. He was working in Facebook and had some stocks on the company, but is in need of money right now. Thus, he is willing to sell you the shares at a lower price than the market.
Immediately, you agree. You 2 meet up and carry out the deal. He gave you some documents and you gave him the cash.
The Catch:
After some time, you decide to sell the stocks/shares, but you can't. The documents are fake. You tried calling the person to no avail. You had been scammed.
The Shield:
Do not engage in such transaction.
Always engage a stocks broker to carry out the transaction. He/she will be able to verify the authenticity of the documents and also perform the transaction legally.
Of course, if it is Facebook you will like to invest in, do it through proper channels.
