Through an online dating site, you get to know a beautiful lady. Everything is perfect and you quickly find yourself falling in love. Making things even better, the feelings are mutual.

Online Love Scam: Gift Giving

The Story:

Surfing the web, and out of nowhere, a guy start chatting up with you, through a forum or social networking website, like Facebook. The two of you hit off really well, and soon you two "fell in love" with each other, even though there had been no real life interaction at all.

Conversations continued for a while, and he suggested and promised to buy you an expensive item that you really like. That blew you off and you waited happily for the gift to arrive.

Telephone Lottery Scam

The Story:

You received a call and the caller congrats you on winning the lottery in a country abroad. After confirming your identity, the "lottery officials" now explained that in order for them to transfer the money overseas, they will require a processing fee and attempt to extract a payment and/or bank details on the spot.

The Story:

You found a car online for a bargain. Apparently, the owner had brought his/her car back along to his/her home country, but for whatever reason, decided to sell the car back to Malaysia. On top of that and most important of all, the price is at a huge bargain.
