The Story:

You received a call and the caller congrats you on winning the lottery in a country abroad. After confirming your identity, the "lottery officials" now explained that in order for them to transfer the money overseas, they will require a processing fee and attempt to extract a payment and/or bank details on the spot.

Lucky Draw SMS: Shell Malaysia

The Story:

You received a text message saying you won a prize / cash prize in one of Shell Malaysia's lucky draw. To retrieved your prize, you will be required to call the number provided, which will attempt to get a processing fee and/or your bank details.

Overseas Car Online

Scam Likelihood: 95%

The Story:

You found a car online for a bargain. Apparently, the owner had brought his/her car back along to his/her home country, but for whatever reason, decided to sell the car back to Malaysia. On top of that and most important of all, the price is at a huge bargain.

Cheap "Stolen" Phone

Scam Likelihood: 90%

The Story:

You were walking on the streets or sitting in your favourite Mamak place and a fellow approached you to sell you a phone that he apparently just stole from a car or a phone shop. He claimed the phone to be one of the lastest model and is selling it to you for an extremely low price.
